The face behind the name!

Hi I’m Emily and I’m the face behind Divine Sport Consultancy :)

My journey in sport started at a young age, I have always been involved in sport and have developed a love for the sector throughout my whole life!

University

As far as my professional education qualifications, I have achieved the following:

BSc Psychology (Hons)

MSc Psychology of Sport (Merit)

Current PhD Student researching the menstrual cycle amongst Para Athletes (Ongoing)

I realised early on in my undergraduate degree that I had an interest in sport and wanted to explore this for my career path, so I took any modules I could to specify,

During my MSc (masters degree) I specialised in female health and researched my final thesis in the menstrual cycle in sport,

I have had to opportunity to work with amazing women to help research, understand this area, and this is where my passion really blossomed.

I am now researching this area in even more depth at PhD level to gain more knowledge and crate further materials to help athletes and coaches.

Continued work and professional development

I currently make sure I am keeping up to date with the latest research and attend any courses and workshops that I can to help me support my clients in the most suitable way. Some of these include:

Assisting Sport Psychology delivery (Athlete Focused)

Supporting female performance in sport and fitness (Open University)

Menstrual Cycle Practitioner Course (Centre of Excellence)

Working with Female Athletes (sportscotland)

Mentor for Scottish Women in Sport and SAMH

Female Equality Lead on Scottish Student Sport Equality Steering Group

I also hold PVG, Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport Certificate and I am a Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport Officer.

What will it be like to work with me?

I take a person centred, holistic approached to my consultancy work and really like to focus on you!

I will use a combination of research, knowledge and theory to help you understand how female health can affect performance both mentally and physically, work on strategies to manage symptoms, help you understand and track your cycle, work on mental skills to assist you through your cycle, and also help you understand how training can be utilised to your advantage at various stages.

The down low…

Basically what I’m looking to achieve is creating a safe space for women and girls to learn more about their bodies and how we can be our own super hero when it comes to our cycles. This includes working with teams, coaches and governing bodies to make sure we are creating the best spaces for our athletes!

I am accepting, empathetic and honest, and I will always strive to help you in the best way for YOU!!

I understand how difficult this topic may be for some people to talk about and I welcome you to only share what you are comfortable with,

I do not currently hold medical training to offer advice on medical conditions that we may discuss and I will only be able to signpost you to your GP. However, I am able to help with your understanding, feeling good within yourself and increasing your mental and physical performance through mental skills training.

If I seem like the type of person for you, get in touch or book a FREE consultation with me below!
